“ We came here as a group and everyone left happy and content of the chosen venue for our fellowship. The food looked all delicious and with the right temperature. I ordered baja Egg Benedict. It's lighter than the classic dish because it has bo hollandaise sauce and instead has avocados and salsa. I did not like the decaf coffee. Prices of all dishes including coffee of course went up. Melanie our server did a great job in taking care of us. She was polite, courteous, right timing in checking in on us and accommodating. We were able to pay on individual receipt. Thank you Melanie and keep the tradition alive by maintaining good food and good service. We will come back! ”

“ 4.5/5 Extra points for great service! The wait staff is always so kind and do their best to be attentive with how popular this spot is. Love their seating options and has a beautiful small town vibe. Bowl of Chili 4.75/5: okay, hear me out. I'm definitely biased because I love chili but there is just something about their version that just has the perfect amount of coziness cooked in. I always adjust to light onions, regular cheese, and also get some cheese toast on the side. If I'm struggling to decide what to eat at work this is what I default to. I have to actively exercise self-control so I don't get it multiple times a week. Arroyo Wrap 4/5: This wrap made me change my mind on avoiding blue cheese. The blue cheese is light and it feels like I'm eating a great chicken salad (in a wrap). I am guilty of usually ordering fries as my side with this. Fig Burger (I can't recall the actual name!) 3.75/5: The caramelized onions were so good and really enhanced the goat cheese and fig reduction or vinaigrette? It was very rich for me but I'm a sucker for trying anything fig-related so I'm glad I tried this! This was on their specials menu if you have a hard time finding it. ”

“ Great food! Great Service! As great as ambiance can be considering we were sitting outside next to the side walk. This place literally makes we want to move to Sierra Madre! Small town feel (a gorgeous street) where you feel safe and secure and able to enjoy this 60? year old gem. We had killer BLT's on chibatta rolls, great pancakes, beef barley soup etc. All simple but executed perfectly. Looking forward to another visit. ”

“ Excellent place for breakfast. Coffee was just ok, but the omelette, toast, and hashed browns were pretty good. Loved that jam and found out it's locally sourced from a farm nearby - which we are heading to check out next! Pleasant outdoor seating. Great service. Will come again! ”

“ This business is located in the historic district of Sierra Madre that is comparable to the historic districts of other surrounding cities in the area. However, this neighborhood is more upper scale and feels safer than other comparable historic districts. There is street parking, parking in their lot around the side and in back, and in the public lot down the street. Just be careful because the green spaces are 2 hr. parking only. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Both are pretty spacious, but the indoor seems like it seats more people. The OPIT has classic American food, some with their own unique twist. There are breakfast dishes served till 2 and standard diner fare. The wait staff is excellent and old school as when many older people were kids. We went for breakfast and got the classic eggs Benedict and avocado toast. The Benedict muffin was pretty heavy, the egg lightly poached in the runnier style, and the sauce much more generous than several other places we have been too for Benedict's recently. Our server even asked us if we wanted more sauce, which we did not, but really appreciated as nowhere else even asked us. The avocado toast was their own twist with cheese that tasted like chicken, sweet jam, and maybe agave sweetener as well as tomatoes and avocado. We enjoyed both dishes, but we usually share one and two was too much for us. However, we probably would not get the avocado toast again as we like the more traditional style better. Overall, this was a wonderful dining experience and we would recommend trying them. We will be back. However, when we first saw them on a Sunday a little later than when we went in on Saturday for breakfast, they were pretty crowded and filled up fast after we got seated. So maybe try to get there at least by 8:00-8:30 on weekends to try to miss the crowd. ”

“ A little brunch with some friends. Perfectly lovely comfort food, hash browns in the silly way I like them (very well done), and service that was attentive without being demanding or cloying. Music's a little on the loud side if you're indoors, but the seats are comfortable both inside and out. ”

“ Stopped in with some friends for a quick lunch. Turns out they serve breakfast until 2pm, so the other 3 had breakfast. One had the breakfast burrito, which was large & came with fresh fruit, the other 2 had omelets that were very big, and came with a nice serving of hash browns & choice of toast, English muffin or zucchini (I think?) bread. I had a bowl of chili that came with onions & cheese on the side, and some cheese bread. I asked for hot sauce and the server asked if I wanted Tobasco, Chalula or Tapatio. Gotta love that! The chili was delicious, full of meat, a bit salty but that was okay with me. Lots of seating, including some outside. There is parking on the side and I; the back of the restaurant. Our server, I believe her name was Melody, was wonderful. So friendly and accommodating. It was a wonderful experience and I think I'll have to return for breakfast one day! ”
